A new career at 60!

Bill went to Cambridge University, where he took up rowing amongst other pleasures.

He then had a career in engineering, which ended suddenly at age 60, when his employer: Sperry, decided to withdraw back to The USA.

Living in Henley by this time, he had taken up rowing again after a long absence and so he started an entirely new career by joining Shiplake College, and spending 20 happy years in charge of their boats. He learnt the skills of boat building and restoration and helped nurture the careers of several young rowing stars.
